JUNIORS

Ages 13-14: Typically 7th and 8th Grade

Lincoln Youth Baseball offers a Juniors program for teenage players who are ready for a fast-paced, competitive game. The field used is a 90-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 60 feet 6 inches (regulation baseball-sized field).

The regular season starts in mid-April and lasts through June or early July, with two midweek games a week and practice two to three times per week. Fall ball starts in late August and runs until mid-October.

Equipment Needed

Each player should provide their own glove, batting helmet, and bat. Bats must follow the USABat standard - bats cannot be more than 36 inches in length and no more than 2 and 5/8 inches in diameter; wooden bats cannot be less than 15/16 inches in diameter (7/8 inches for bats less than 30 inches in length) at its smallest part. Wood bats taped or fitted with a sleeve may not exceed 18 inches from the small end. The bat shall not weigh, numerically, more than three ounces less than the length of the bat. All bats not made of a simgle piece of wood shall meet the Batted Ball Coefficient of Restitution (BBCOR) performance standard, and such bats shall be labeled with a silkscreen or other permanent certification mark.

Seasons Offered

Juniors teams play in the regular spring season as well as fall ball.

Lincoln Youth Baseball is committed to providing youth a positive baseball experience and do not want the cost of registration to prevent anyone from being able to play. Please see the LYB Playership request form to apply for a discounted registration.
